Lamentation Music for Ashoura and Tasou’a period varies from place to place according to the native music of those parts. One of the most passionate lamentations in southern parts of Iran is performed in Boushehr. Dry-gorged collection is orchestration of those old mourning songs, in praise of Imam Hossain and the martyrs of Karballa, and sang by a native singer called Hossain Keshtkar, who apart from singing has a long established reputation in playing southern percussion instruments.
